The most failure of the pipe for transportation of solids-water mixture such as coal sludge, ore slurry or granular materials is wall thickness wear out. The steel pipe has good pressure resistance but the mechanical abrasion of steel is very significant which makes the steel pipe fails and need to be replaced very frequency. The PE100 polyethylene pipe has better corrosive proof property than steel pipe, and its friction factor is less steel so it has also better abrasion resistance than steel pipe.
